Commas, Turning Up, Everywhere
WASHINGTON—In the midst of a crisis that may have reached a breaking, point Tuesday afternoon, linguists, and grammarians, everywhere say they are baffled, by the sudden and seemingly random, appearance of commas, in our nation’s sentences. The epidemic of errant punctuation has spread, like wildfire, since signs of the epidemic first, appeared in a Washington Post article, on Federal...

We Are Very Busy People
via organismpictures.com we’ll end up numb from playing video games and we’ll get sick of having sex and we’ll get fat from eating candy as we drink ourselves to death, we’ll stay up late making mix tapes photoshopping pictures of ourselves while we masturbate to these pixelated videos of strangers fucking themselves we are very busy people ...

Different Terror Threat Levels Around The World
The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from “Miffed” to “Peeved.” Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to “Irritated” or even “A Bit Cross.” The English have not been “A Bit Cross” since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists...

jinglejanglejen's January 2010 mix on 8tracks
via 8tracks.com 8tracks is a fun way to share your musical tastes and listen to the selections of other people. This is my first collection and it has absolutely no theme or coherence at all. Which is fairly typical :) My eight tracks including music by A Fine Frenzy, Ali Farka Toure and Bonnie Somerville.

Graphics with a mac
Here’s my first attempt using  a new program called iCollage for Mac. I’m impressed by all the templates and the easy navigation, but there are some glitches and it crashes occasionally. I’ve made this as a desktop picture also, and the quality is outstanding. I look forward to more exploration and experimentation.

The art of Ray Caesar
A while ago I promised a friend I’d put this together, and voila - at last it’s done! Ray Caesar’s art is dark and deliciously kinky, but it’s so innocently rendered that one sometimes question whether one has a dirty mind. Nope….well, yes - I do…but…oh nevermind. Enjoy.

Graypants Uses Bumwad
via inventorspot.com Graypants, the young Seattle design team that creates anything artistic made from repurposed scrap, has come up with a creative repurpose for used bumwad.  No, not toilet paper, but the semi-transparent architectural paper the designers have used to create their past works. The used bumwad is reborn as Graypants’ Sketchlight Pendants. Of all the things that sprang...

Ave atque Vale « The New Adventures of Stephen Fry
“Well now, this is a sort of farewell. An au revoir more than an adieu but a valediction all the same. This morning I switch off most of my connections with the outside world, for I have work to do. I must deliver a book to my publishers by the end of April or my soul and testicles will be forfeit. Some people can write with ease in whatever circumstances they find themselves. Up a tree,...

An alternate view
I’m starting to realize that tumblr isn’t big on substance or originality, but it seems to suit the many people who want to use it a ‘re-blog-by-adding messages-and-sending-around-to-my-friends’ kind of chain letter. Some of the tumblrs formerly known as stumblers (and the most publicly dissatisfied ones at that) are turning tumblr into another circle-jerk enclave of...

TAC 2009 Christmas Campaign TV ad - 20 Anniversary...
via youtube.com Australians have been watching these Transport Accident Commission commercials for 20 years, and they have always been incredibly powerful and confronting. Sadly (and not suprisingly) it’s often a case of preaching to the converted - because the idiots and the irresponsible drivers seem immune to any kind of shock tactics. That said, there is now far less community...
