For seven years we’ve been house-sitting, and this place is the best house in the best location yet. And it’s modest in comparison to the other houses (mansions) around here.

The owners flew to Dubai a couple of weeks ago to join the QE2 on a month-long cruise…so you get an idea of the wealth involved. It’s quite mind boggling to me, but I somehow manage to get my head around it and enjoy the trappings, if only for short time.

Today I took photos of some of the art that adorns the walls. The house is otherwise almost completely white / grey / silver  which isn’t to my taste - but it certainly lends itself to the design. Most of the paintings have been done by one of the owners and that’s a nice personal touch in a modernist decor that risks being rather monochromatic and sterile.
