Give it the boot
I have spent two consecutive afternoons watching the televised coverage of the grand finals of two different football codes. My Canadian Aussie husband is interested in most sports and seems to know a lot about most of them. Even cricket, which I find REALLY odd.
In contrast, despite having attended many football games and grand finals at the MCG, I would be hard pressed to explain anything about football to anyone. I thnk I must have some kind of sporting ADD. I can watch sport for a while, but I have no real connection to what I’m seeing, and it all washes right over me. Unless I’m doing something else while the game is on, I can’t even pretend to be interested. At least if I’m eating, drinking or playing with my devices, I can be in the same room…if not actively participating.
When I was a kid, my dad used to take me to the football. Apparently he didn’t get to see the end of many games unless he provided enough food and distractions to keep me occupied.
Some things never change :)
