I spent a total of eight hours in a car today to travel several hundred kilometres to attend a ‘seminar’ which basically turned out to be a two hour sales pitch. While the high-end high-tech and highly desirable various equipment and device management systems looked and sounded awesome, the bottom line is that our school is locked into some inferior technology that the Education Department insists on using, and we don’t have spare money to purchase any of the other stuff, either.

Our State Premier, who I have renamed ‘Take-away Ted’ is screwing school budgets into the ground already. To have state-of-the-art technology dangled before us was certainly informative, but it was also frustrating to realise that the only schools likely to be able to implement the systems will be some of the large metropolitan educational institutions. Oh, and of course the fee-charging private schools. Who also get Government funding.

Don’t get me started!
